Words

Words uttered in haste seldom express what the speaker really meant to have said. However a keen listener will discern the emotions of love, pain, fear and the loss to a confused self, desperately seeking to be understood.

It is human to become stricken by the onslaught of words to self about self. It is an exercise that given time will produce detailed information to self on what should have been and could have been achieved.

Thus, reinforcing the belief that one's cup is half empty rather than half full.  The knowledge spirals an attack on the soul and culminates into varying levels of depression.  Words should be weighed for the impact on bringing joy and in generally raising the spirit of a person before being spewed out with venom.

Amidst life’s journey we all remember and cherish memories of those who had said kind things to us especially during childhood. Maybe as mothers, parents and good citizens of this earth, we should dedicate a day in each week to Good Words. Author H.H-Browne. CEO of Caribbean Essence.

The Reader's Bill of Rights

Everyone has the right to read.

The right to not read.

The right to skip pages.

The right to not finish.

The right to reread.

The right to read anything.

The right to escapism.

The right to read anywhere.

The right to browse.

The right to read out loud.

The right not to defend your tastes.

Art of Reading

Find a book. Search bookstores or library until you find a book that looks good. Read the first page to see how it reads. If you find yourself already engrossed, then buy it.

Do not start to read it, until you have the time.  Set aside time to do nothing else but read

Settle into a comfortable chair or get comfortable on the couch. Have good lighting in the area where you are reading. Ensure that you have brought coffee, candy, popcorn, or any other refreshments you might want.

Start the book by turning the pages. Do not think about anything else, but what you read. Put yourself into the action or location within the story.

If you find your eyes closing, or if you feel tired, then place a bookmark into the page

Books can be a best friend. They can take you to places that you may never see. They can   introduce you to things you may never know.
